A Street-style darling of Singapore: Yoyo Cao

Yoyo Cao, also known as yoyokulala, is a fashion entrepreneur, a street-style celebrity, and a social media personality. She is responsible for capturing the attention of the worldwide fashion scene like no other local personality. She has a pitch-perfect flair for blending impossible separates to spectacular ends, which is a fancy way of saying that she dresses exceptionally well.

Cao is undoubtedly one of Singapore’s most prominent and well-known fashion icons. She is a social media influencer, a street style darling, and a fashion entrepreneur all rolled into one. The exhibit was a modest multi-label store that Yoyo Cao founded at Far East Plaza along Orchard Road in 2010. It was the year when she made her debut in the fashion world.
Cao was born in Macau, and it was there that she first became interested in fashion. She was influenced by the fact that she could observe her mother while she was growing up. For a very long time, Yoyo Cao has admired how well put together she always appears to be. She began experimenting with different looks and striving for her style when she moved to Singapore to pursue her education in her late teens. That is when she uncovered her preference for wearing pantsuits.

Even though she has refined her approach to fashion during the course of her career, this has not prevented her from broadening her repertoire. Yoyo Cao is continuously developing a new look for herself, and how she dresses shifts depending on how she feels on any given day. Yoyo Cao has, as of late, been gravitating toward more feminine appearances. Her skill at combining and coordinating disparate elements as if there is one thing that has remained the same, it is that.
Cao began using social media in the same way that so many others have done before her: to capture her life before fame knocked on her door. Her spectacular rise could not have occurred at a more reasonable time because it coincided with Asia’s increasing significance as a fashion industry market.

Yoyo is not Singaporean. She moved to Singapore when she was 13 years old from Macau, where Yoyo Cao lived with a guardian until she turned 18. Since then, she has been fending for herself on her own. Yoyo Cao reveals that her parents, who she claims “manage a business,” still reside in Macau and that they had dispatched her to this location so that she might advance her education. When Yoyo Cao was offered the option of moving to Singapore, Canada, or Australia, she chose Singapore since, at the time, she enjoyed getting a tan in the sun. She also mentioned that even though she was an only child, she was not coddled by her parents and that they were pretty stern with her.

Cao believes that, despite the constantly shifting fashions and algorithms, the most important things for success in the industry are maintaining your aesthetic and acting professionally.
Cao launched her website, yoyokulala.com, in 2016, which was the next natural step for her brand. The fact that she maintains a website allows her to go more deeply into a diverse variety of subjects that pique her interest, whether it be a discussion of the most recent beauty trends or musings on the marvels of travel.

Cao does not necessarily consider the fast-paced nature of the internet arena to be pressure because she thrives in its fast-paced environment. Yoyo Cao believes that staying active on social media can be pretty fun. It forces her to be on her toes and think of creative new ways to distribute content, which keeps her on the go.
