Blogging Convos with Creator Shagun Mehta

This one goes out to the girls, who never knew that simply telling the world on your take on fashion would ever be a career option. Because the 90’s children never had the chance to say “Mein Badi Hoke Blogger Banungi” and are still making it big in the industry.

Team Creatorshala is in conversation with rising blogger and influencer- Shagun Mehta whose personal blog has just completed a year and we must say she has carved a niche for herself, so without any further adieu lets get started with the interview.

Tell us all about your love for Fashion? How and when it started! And, who is your biggest inspiration?

My go-to funda for fashion from day 1 has been to wear something new, and trendy. My heart always wanted to explore whatever styling had to offer. However back then I could never imagine converting my inclination into a full-fledged career.

My blogging journey started because of my inquisition about the famous bloggers, not just about their posts or the latest outfit I was interested in the AtoZ of the mechanism. Smiles and say that her blog has just completed a year and she is the happiest she can be.

For inspiration, she says “You can never rely on a single person for getting inspired, there is something to learn from all of them.”

Tell us about your blogging story, and the challenges you faced.

I had a very stable and promising career in social media marketing, However, blogging was something that dawned on me every single day. Then one fine day I realised that I was more than ready to start and take the journey as it comes. My then office was located at Cp, and I took advantage of the situation at hand and most of my shoot locations were close to my workplace.

However, there were some cons as well people at work were not supportive of my new venture and I was subjected to taunts. Nevertheless, I have no regrets on my journey so far.

Please tell us about your Style.

When comfort meets confidence.

What do you think are your core strengths?

I am filled with positivity and motivation, along with the will power to always give it a try. In two months I got my first collab and in a matter of a year, I have worked with quite some brands. “I follow the motto that if you are bold enough to knock no door will remain closed.”

What is your take on the people who did not support you in this venture(Knowns and Unknowns)?

There are still a lot of people who are not aware of the “what & how ” of this industry and maybe that was the reason I was not applauded for my effort. However the people who matter to me are proud of me today and for the rest, I guess its just a matter of time when they will see the power of dreams and spirit.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how difficult do you think blogging is?

I would give it a 5/10. Because its never easy to maintain your position, nothing you have done or posted yesterday matters, Its all about how much effort you are giving in your next post. However, it still gets a 5 because, in the end, it is always worth it.

If you had to choose b/w relationship and career what would you choose and why?

Career, because work for a blogger is not merely a mean of earning a few bucks. It’s your teacher, best friend, inspiration and whatnot. Also, as for relationships, I think its pure destiny. However, if you are vice enough to balance your life and lucky enough to get someone who supports you, you can get the best of both worlds.

What is your take on Influencers who share their personal life on Instagram?

It’s nice and required in its way because blogging is all about being connected with your instal fam if the blogger is comfortable in spilling their secrets it is not that big of a deal.

What would like to say to the people who think blogging is all about easy peasy makeup and posing?

This has been the biggest misconception of all times. However, I guess that’s how the world works. There is a lot of effort, however, so does everyone’s work. But when it comes to blogging you are your boss, and this is not an easy thing. No one is there to guide you about what is right and what is wrong, It is all hit and trial.

Any tip, from your side to the girls who dream of making it big in blogging.

Anything worth will come after some wait. Good things take time and no miracle happens overnight deep down they all are planned. Also, you have to raise yourself from worrying about the number of views or the number of likes. Instagram Insights are for you to work on and not to ger disturbed about. Also, all the best to everyone!
