Dua Lipa’s new rules

Dua Lipa is a model, songwriter, and singer from England. By uploading covers of songs by other artists to YouTube at the age of 14, she launched her musical career. She joined Warner Music Group in 2014, and her debut song was released the following year. The Fader magazine placed a December 2016 purchase for the Lipa documentary See in Blue. The EBBA Public Choice Award went to Lipa in January 2017. Her debut studio album under her own name was made available on June 2, 2017. Seven songs were included on the album, including “New Rules,” which climbed at number one in the UK and peaked at number six in the US, as well as UK top ten hits “Be the One” and “Idgaf”. The two categories for which Lipa won two Brit Awards in 2018 were British Breakthrough Act and British Female Solo Artist. Having fled Pristina in the 1990s, Lipa’s Kosovo-born Albanian parents gave birth to her in London. Prior to her family’s 2008 relocation to Kosovo, she briefly attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School. When Lipa was a youngster, Dukagjin Lipa’s songs had a big impact on her.

She initially disliked the unusual nature of her given name, which in Albanian means “love,” but as it did away with the requirement for a stage name, she came to “like” it. She started uploading renditions of her favorite songs by Pink and Nelly Furtado to YouTube when she was 14 years old. She relocated back to London when she was 15 years old with the goal of becoming a singer. She soon started working as a model. She appeared in a The X Factor television commercial in 2013. Work for Lipa’s debut album for Warner Music Group started in 2015. Emile Haynie and Andrew Wyatt, who produced her debut single, “New Love,” worked on it with her in August 2015. In October 2015, she dropped “Be the One,” her second song. “Be the One” was a hit all over Europe, topping the charts in over 11 countries, including Slovakia, Belgium, and Poland. The song reached its radio high at positions 6 and 20, respectively, in Australia and New Zealand. “Dark pop” is how Lipa describes her musical aesthetic. Her inclusion and the other performers that made the BBC Sound of 2016 long list were made public on November 30, 2015. In January 2016, she started her maiden tour of Europe and the UK. In November 2016, Lipa’s tour’s European leg came to a conclusion.

Lipa received the most nominations of any performer when she received five for the Brit Awards in January 2018. The British Female Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, MasterCard British Album of the Year, British Single of the Year, and British Video of the Year were among the prizes for which she competed in the UK finals. According to Lipa’s social media updates, she has started creating new songs for her upcoming second album. She and MNEK, with whom she is currently associated, composed the song “Idgaf.” The vocalist and the electronic music producer Whethan worked together to create the song “High,” which can be heard on the Fifty Shades Freed album and was released in February 2018.
