Khalid Al Ameri, an Emirati content creator, enjoys telling stories. Over the course of his career, Khalid has successfully established an impressive online following and communicated a number of significant messages to his audience. Some of his most popular videos talk about growing up in a multicultural home with an Emirati father and British mother, his son’s autism, how the UAE handled the COVID-19 pandemic, and Salama Mohamed, his wife, who has vitiligo on her skin. Khalid is half Emirati and half Scottish because he was raised in a multicultural household. He considers himself to be “100 percent Emirati” despite having been raised in the UAE, holding a passport from the UAE, and working for government agencies from the UAE.

Khalid completed his high school education at the American International School in Abu Dhabi before attending Stanford University to earn his MBA in Business Administration.However, he discovered that storytelling was his passion. Khalid did a complete 180 from his MBA and entered the field of journalism, eventually landing a position as CNN’s Middle Eastern Correspondent.

As part of Dubai Cares’ imitative, Khalid has worked in schools all over the world and did good deeds all over the country.Khalid is well-known for his selfless acts, including posting a video on YouTube explaining the concept of a Balikbayan box, in which a number of household items are sent back to the Philippines on behalf of residents, earlier this year. He also surprised Leila, his housekeeper, by giving her the box and a ticket to visit her family. His goal as a content creator and storyteller is to bring people together. He is always spreading love and raising awareness about serious issues, putting an emphasis on coexistence without conflict and sharing experiences that encourage one another.Khalid also runs a Facebook group called “Khalid’s World Group” where people can talk about their experiences and see how they can help each other. In 2018, Khalid began supporting UNHCR by utilising his skills as a storyteller to provide insight into displaced individuals in various regions of the world.He wrote about Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, South Sudanese in Uganda, Lebanese in Lebanon after the bombing in Beirut, Syrians and Iraqis in Erbil, and others.

Together with his wife Salama, he has amassed a large following through the production of lighthearted and humorous videos. At the beginning year 2021, the couple reached new heights—literally. Khalid informed his 1.2 million followers in January of 2021 that he has exciting news and he and Salama had “TikTok’d their way to the Burj Khalifa.” He posted an image of this incident in his instagram account saying ” Can’t believe it” “Thank you [TikTok Arab creators] for the incredible opportunity and all of the support you have given our work, we are so excited for the year ahead and all the stories we are going to tell together.”
