Nicolàs Otamendi or Nicolàs Hernàn Gonzalo Otamendi is a professional football player who plays for Argentina, his home country. He plays as a center-back and is quite popular for being the most trusted for that position. Apart from representing Argentina in world football, he plays for Portuguese Primeira Lisa club “Benfica”.
Although his professional career as a player in the Senior team started in the year 2007 he had created a name for himself way before that as a Young player. He played for almost 12 years for Vélex Sarsfield from the year 1995 to 2007. Then in 2007, he started playing for the senior team, and subsequently, he has played for quite a number of teams, such as “Porto”, “Valencia”, “Manchester City”, and “Benfica” currently. So far in all of his appearances, he has scored a total of 23 goals, and he has been a remarkable defender for his team in almost every game. He has helped the team in winning many matches. And for the National team in a sum total of 93 matches, he has scored 4 goals and has built quite a reputation for being a trusted player.
Some of his major achievements are playing for Porto in his early career and winning eight major titles which include three Primeira Lisa CHampionslhps and the 2011 Europa League. Later when he joined Valencia in the year 2014 and spent four months on loan to Atlético Mineiro of Brazil. Subsequently, he moved to Manchester City and won the Premier Le3ague in 2017-18 and 2018-19, as well as 4 league cups and an FA Cup. It’s quite a sight to watch him play football as he is so good at it, playing with the ball with such ease is among his special qualities and he is known for his amazing passes.
In 2022 he will be playing in the 2022 Football World Cup for the Argentina National Team which is going to be held in Qatar, a country lying in Middle-East Asia.
