One of the Hot 100 in one week: Drake

Toronto, Ontario is where Aubrey Drake Graham was born. He is the son of Dennis Graham, an African American vocalist who was raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and Sandi (Sher) Graham, a Canadian Jew who works as a teacher. When Drake was a young guy, he made numerous appearances in advertisements, including ones for GMC and Sears. In 2001, Drake became well-known for his performances “After getting shot by a classmate, Jimmy Brooks, a basketball player from Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001), is wheelchair-bound. In 2006, Drake dropped his first mixtape, marking the beginning of his musical career “Space for Improvement Three years later, he released “So Far Gone,” his third mixtape, which was both critically and commercially successful. He officially published his debut the following year.

Young Canadian Aubrey Drake Graham has made a name for himself as a multitalented artist, and the entertainment business has high hopes for him. His mother is Ashkenazi Jewish and white and Canadian, and his father is an African American (of Latvian Jewish and Russian Jewish descent). Drake was reared in the religion of his mother. He attended the “Young People’s Theater” acting studio as a youngster in Toronto, Canada. He finally achieved his first number one song as the lead artist with his song “One Dance” on the Billboard Hot 100 after many of his successes peaked at number 2. The following week, Justin Timberlake replaced him at the top of the charts, but One Dance triumphed and held that position for more than 10 weeks. He had previously tied The Beatles’ record for the most Billboard Hot 100 entries in a week with 14, but now has 20 entries, breaking that mark. Later, Justin Bieber used 17 to create a new record. 

In honor of Elizabeth and Victoria Lejonhjärta, Afro-Swedish twin models who were also born in October and with whom he frequently collaborates, he wears a Swedish tattoo that reads “Oktober Lejonhjärta.” He once said, “I don’t even know if I composed a rap song in the whole nine months, since I wasn’t a rapper anymore,” in reference to Rihanna. I didn’t really believe in myself. I belonged to someone else. A pawn, I was. You are aware of what she did to me? She was treating them with the same respect I’ve shown so many ladies throughout my life by spending time with them before vanishing. Wow, this feels awful, I thought.

When he shared a number of images from his vacation to Sweden, the mysterious Drake kind of confirmed his arrest (or detention). One of the images was a handout Swedish law enforcement gives out when they suspect criminal activity. The Polisen publication “Information for Those Suspected of a Crime and Subsequently Detained”. His Instagram post included a picture of him and 21 Savage as well as a video showing him being arrested by Swedish police. This would support the rap line, “Swedish jail cell, smellin’ like some Carby Musk,” from Her Loss’ song “Middle of the Ocean.” Drake was allegedly detained on marijuana-related charges back in July while having a good time in a Swedish nightclub. Nevertheless, despite the trending hashtag #FreeDrake, his team has rejected any reports that he has been detained.
