If it’s meant to be it’ll be: Arci’s spotlight journey

In an article in NOW Magazine, it is revealed that Arci Muñoz was a never-ever girl. She never dreamt of being an actress. She had no intention of working in the entertainment industry. She didn’t consider herself a model, a successful public figure, a celebrity, or an influencer. This was due to Muñoz’s natural shyness as a child. She was timid and sheltered that her life plan was to get married after high school, settle down, and live happily ever after. The fairy tales where dreams are made, ah, yes. Cinderella marries her charming prince and leads a blissful life.

Muñoz was a thin and sickly kid. She recalls often being hospitalised. She was also accident-prone. She was a restless kid with an adventurous spirit. She recalls falling down a tree and frequently getting cuts, bruises, and bumps on the head. Her dad eventually allowed her to try all sorts of sports at the member-only facility where he works so that he could keep a watchful eye on his daughter. She dedicated her teenage years to Kung Fu and Taekwondo, two martial arts.

At an early age and to this day, Muñoz loves cartoons. The fantasy world nurtures the creative and “outside the box” mindset. She grew up creating vibrant cartoon characters. Years later, Muoz started her makeup business and developed numerous character, and glam looks. She sang in church choirs which served as a foundation for voice training, constant practice and singing in public.

Muñoz, fifteen, decided against attending college because she was too shy. Again, she reaffirmed her goal of a simple life and settling down. She only dared to study at a huge university because her big sister was studying there. Muoz believed that since she wouldn’t be alone, she wouldn’t be as shy. But, as fate would have it, of the many courses at the University, her sister was enrolled in “Theatre Arts”! Huh! A real in-the-face challenge for a shy person.

Muñoz was eighteen years old when she graduated with a Certificate in Theatre Arts at the University of the Philippines. She was 18 years old when Muoz started her band, “Philia,” which is a Greek word for “love.” She listened to a variety of bands, including Slipkot, Korn, and Sepultura. This private school catholic raised girl found her love for rock music.

All these are proof that when fate and destiny align, a deep sense of fulfilment and success follows.

For Muñoz, life can never be boring. She is unique, authentic, free-spirited, loud, fun, playful, creative, adventurous, colourful, intense, flexible, adaptable, and smart.  She thrives in an unpredictable environment like show business.

Strong family support. Her parents supported her as she tried new things, took risks, faced challenges, failed, made mistakes, got hurt, failed again, dusted herself off, got up, and moved on. That goes for her career as well as her love life. With her family as her backbone and strength, there is no limit to how far and how high she can soar and fly.

ARCI MUÑOZ is eternally on fire, and she is ready for her next adventure.
