Is Filip Ingebrigtsen thinking of making a comeback?

Norway as a country has produced some world-class runners, they’ve traversed to every corner of the world and they’ve brought gold in some of the world’s biggest sporting tournaments. One such person is Filip Mangen Ingebrigtsen, popularly known as “Filip”. Although girls are fond of him for his looks and height, a majority of the Norwegian public love him for his outstanding skills. He stands 6ft 2 inches tall and his legs are proportionately longer than his torso which allows him to achieve a remarkable running speed. His career as a professional runner started back in 2011, when he participated in Norwegian Championship 2011, in which he finished in the 5th position, it was a 0.8 km race and he completed it in less than 2 minutes. Thereafter he never looked back and his sheer dedication allowed him to make the unfathomable a reality. Something which might have seemed impossible at first, he was doing it with much ease now. In 2016, he participated in the European Championship for the 1500 meters racing competition and he finished 1st, this was the once in a lifetime experience for him, a peek of his happiness, he had represented his country in the European Championship and had also brought gold back home. Thereafter he brought home a bronze medal in the World Championship held in London and subsequently a Gold in European Cross-Country Championship in 2018.

After a decade-long career, it seems Filip is not in form anymore, due to some uncertain reasons he is not able to perform as he used to in his prime years as a runner. He had to take a year-long hiatus in 2020. And yet again in 2022, he is not seen in action. It seems his bad performance in the 2021 European Indoor Championship and 2021 Olympic Games has had a major impact on his motivation and composed self. Although he seems like a very settled person and I’m sure he must be practicing twice as much as he used to do earlier. And I hope he makes a comeback and participates in future tournaments. He is still just 29 years old, and a bright career is still a possibility for him.
