Lothepus and his relationship with nicotine.

Leif Einar Lothe is a Norwegian Actor, Musician, and entrepreneur. He is popular by his stage name “Lothepus”. He is popular among the general Norwegian public and primarily children because of his role in the popular episodic-documentary series named “Fjorden Cowboys”, which was aired on TV 2 in the year 2014. The description of the show states “The series focuses on entrepreneur Leif Einar Lothe and his colleague Joar Førde as they make a living as shot firers and spend their time drinking beer and enjoying life. This show basically chronicles their work and private life, the situation they create due to their explorative nature. They can be seen doing things like retrieving a stolen boat, accidentally destroying someone’s garden while removing an old truck, or putting themselves in dangerous and funny situations by creating homemade fireworks, etc”. Actually, the main reason this show got created was the creative mind of Hildegunn Wærness, who approached her cousins Lothepus and Jjoar Førde to make a documentary series, based on her idea. And yes they agreed, but still bringing her ideas to life was the real stressful thing for Hildegunn, but she stayed calm and persistently recorded almost 400 hours of footage, and after later processing 10 episodes of the show were created. If you have watched this show then you must have an idea, of what this show is like. Filmed using the handheld camera to give the viewers a kind of POV experience, the director prioritises the viewers watching experience and tries to make it more immersive with different approaches, one of which is the actors narrating the scenes, to keep the audience aware. The show was a major success and after the first season, it was in so much demand that 4 more seasons were released subsequently with the final 5th season being released in 2018.

Recently Lothe was in news because of his statement that “It’s better to sniff than to smoke”. Actually, four years back he was diagnosed with throat cancer and had to undergo surgery, after which his health progressed somewhat, but his doctor strictly told him not to smoke, but Lote was so addicted to nicotine that he found an alternative “a snuff”. He believes that snuff is not harmful, at least there is no proven evidence. But according to the Directorate of Health, snus is highly addictive and equally harmful to health. The use of snus couldn’t be backed up by saying that it’s not harmful, it’s bad for a person to be addicted to such things, and obstructs the goal of a healthy and positive society.
