Neelima Vallangi: The Wandering Soul

Somewhere On Her Way

A national award winner for her photography, Neelima is not the average next door blogger. Before taking off from normal routine to the life of trekking and roaming about she was a software engineer and has worked in the same for 7 years. This very job of hers is responsible for her initial funding.

Find’s Herself in Poetry

She describes herself best in the words of Lord Byron where all she means to say is that her love for nature supersedes her love for everything else! That love for big sunshine and little flowers is all we need to live our lives with freedom feels!

It all Began at the Peak

Her love for travel rose to life when she was on a Family trip to Ladakh where she wanted to stay back and soak in every little thing that place had to offer. It was love at first experience and she has been with it ever since!

The Knack Which Took Her Places

Her sole aim was to explore every niche and corner of the place she has been to. Her soul seeks to live out every experience possible at the place. It is like she is already in love with the places and what they have to offer!

#ClimateChange Sundays are here! After pestering you with several questions and polls, I've zeroed in on the talking points I’ll need to get started with this “awareness campaign”. Yes, that’s what this is. I’m bothered by two things – 1. The half baked information masquerading as climate change expertise on social media. 2. The ignorance on the severity and urgency of the situation at hand, especially in Indian media. So I decided to change what’s bothering me. But before we get into the more serious aspects of it, a quick primer today. . What is climate change then? Simply put, changes in the earth's climate system which includes naturally induced warming and cooling periods. But we’re now facing climate crisis because our progress as humans has altered the global climate significantly by trapping heat, thanks to spiked greenhouse gas emissions. And we've witnessed 0.8 deg Celsius rise in just over half a century. Note, it's global climate change, not weather. Meaning slight increase in global surface temperatures means huge localised weather fluctuations. And yes, there is an interglacial warming and ice age cycle that the earth has been undergoing over millions of years. But there is enough evidence to believe human activities have warmed the planet and accelerated global warming! The major greenhouses gases capable of heating the atmosphere are Co2, CFCs, Methane and Nitrous oxide. For 800,000 years, the Carbon dioxide(Co2) concentration has fluctuated between 180 parts per million(ppm) to 280 ppm. But from 1950 onwards, after the dawn of the industrial age that is, the Co2 levels have shot up to 415 ppm. This is unprecedented and we are simply not ready to handle the fallout. We cannot live in denial anymore. So, few explainers on climate change linked in bio and in stories. Read up and research on your own today. More next week! P.S – Half of 2019 is done and I’ve posted only 32 times in all. But since this idea popped in my head, I’ve done 10 posts, all within two weeks. So, there, I upped my Instagram game to trap you with beautiful travel pictures and trick you into discussing climate change with me. Classic bait and switch, eh? 😉

Wise Words

Exploring her blog is not a piece of cake it is not concluded with the beautiful pictures and few do’s and don’t. It is much more than that she is a standing inspiration for all others who are themselves interested in the field of travel blogging. She is reigning voice of passion simply stating that when there is a will there is away.

Smitten By Sanskar

Her addiction to exploring offbeat places is owed to the warmth and hospitality offered by the natives. She is all ears when it comes to native folk tales. All smiles to the warm welcome and a big foodie for trying out all the local cuisines.

Watching Over

She has claimed that she may leave the place once her expedition is over but a part of her heart always stays back still roaming about in the beauty of the place. However, it is not only her heart that stays behind it is also her mind who is watching over the deteriorating state of climate and is worried about them.
