Raj Shamani And His Workaholic Mindset

“Opportunities are everywhere if we grab them all” Raj Shamani

An entrepreneur, a keynote speaker, an early-stage start-up investor (Angel Investor), and a social media influencer. Yes, these are the exact words mentioned by Raj on his website which goes by the URL www.rajshamani.com. Raj proclaims himself as a public speaker and mentions that he has given public speeches over 200+ times and in 26+ countries for 100+ brands. Raj is also the host of a podcast in which the Lenskart co-founder “Peyush Bansal” revealed why he avoided signing a contract with Shark Tank India and he inked the contract only when he had already appeared as a judge in one episode. Raj is currently being covered by every news outlet such as “The Indian Express”, “Times Now”, “The Quint”, “Business Insider India”, etc as he continues to grow and make a room for himself among the leaders of tomorrow as mentioned by Times Now.

Raj found himself in the midst of a Twitter battle recently where he was indirectly called out for siding with Toxic Hustle Culture. Actually, Raj posted a tweet in which he mentioned “If there were 25 hours a day, I’d still want to work 26 hours. It’s not that I’m a workaholic, I just love the ****ing grind.” To which netizens started calling him out for promoting such a toxic work culture while relying on working endlessly and in such a hustle there’s no room for any other activity, not even getting adequate family and friends time. Such a lifestyle might also impact one’s mental well-being and physical to some extent as well. Netizens lashed at raj with their exaggerated re-imagined version of the same tweet posted by Raj. He received replies such as “Even if I had a cricket bat, mai toh ball haath se hi maarunga because I love the ****ing grind” by Prakhar Gupta, and another person named “Ben” mocked raj by saying “Sir this is Twitter, not LinkedIn”. It’s true that on Twitter criticism for inappropriate tweets is inevitable, It’s just as easy as it is to get help by using a hashtag over Twitter by making it a trend.
