Shivya Nath : Coffee Mugs and Travel Bugs

–I don’t know where I am going, but I am on my way–

She is the living example that change resides within us and it is in our own hands that we bring it out and position it strong enough so that it can capture our brains and content our hearts. Coming from a family just like hers I am in total awe of this one managed to break free and bars, made peace with background noise and carved out her path.

Since this article is about the blogger and the author of the bestselling book: The Shooting Star, we would like to tell you that this one has no blacks, no whites and absolutely no grays. This is the story of a girl who decided to paint her sky a different colour each day. Who wanted to explore the greener grass on all the other sides. Who had the courage to break down the itinerary that life had to offer and took all the roads(Weather or not they were less travelled), and enjoyed them to the core.

Her book, a shooting star is not only a memoir of all her travels it is a secret way via which all the girls of this country can live their dreams by being teleported to whatever places the world has to offer. The book is as unpredictable as life as no one knows what happens next! Is it a fancy sponsored event ? A day in the ruins? Is she eating a meal for two alone or merely scraping something because of lack of options.

Her lifestyle is fantasy for a modern day girl, who wants to carve out her own path and walk on it alone. It was in 2011 when she was free from the boundations that life has to offer by quitting her 9to 5 corporate job at the Singapore Tourism Board and was ready to walk her own path it was then that she was out of the cage, However the extraordinary was yet to happen and in the year 2013 she sold out whatever she had, let go of her permanent address and was 100% dedicated to being a travel blogger. Hence it was this time around that the bird let go of the cage!

There are a lot of facts that are to be told about her and those are that she belongs to a conservative Indian family who reside at the foothill of himalayas, it was after her high school that she went to singapore to complete her studies. After she landed a job at the singapore tourism board she was introduced to the power of social media and the scope of blogging. It was in 2011 that she left her job and took up travel blogging as her career, and in 2013 she let go of all her belongings including her permanent address. 2015 was the year when she turned vegan and and in the year 2018 she published her first book. However a special fact that according to me is worth mentioning is that in reality she was the one “Backpacking Across Western Europe!”
