Ridhwan Azman is a Singaporean actor, blogger, and YouTube and Instagram sensation. He played Ismail Mohammed in the first and second episodes of the local film franchise Ah Boys to Men, directed by Jack Neo.
When he was nine years old, his parents split after his biological father had an affair with their Indonesian maid. Ridhwan and his younger siblings were, after that, reared by their mother. As a result of the divorce, the family was temporarily homeless and sought shelter at relatives’ homes. Ridhwan was “forced to grow up,” in his words, to be a pillar of support for his mother and younger siblings.
Ridhwan won various dance and singing competitions as a child. He first entered the industry in 2009, when he competed on Campus SuperStar (season 3) and finished as a finalist.
He began blogging in 2010 but erased it after splitting up with his then-girlfriend.
Luna Woo was one of Ridhwan’s well-publicised ex-girlfriends. Luna posted a break-up story of her relationship with Ridhwan on her blog on August 3, 2013. Luna “indicated that Ridhwan had physically and verbally abused her more than once during the relationship,”
Ridhwan responded to Luna’s charges with a blog post titled “I Love This Girl,” in which he told his version of events. According to Ridhwan, Luna was the one who initiated violence in their relationship by “slapping and shaming (him) in the bus.” Ridhwan admitted to punching Luna and apologised but insisted that the message was not intended to “cover (his) ass” or “mention whose (sic) at fault.”
In December 2012, he started another blog and published his first entry.
Ridhwan Azman is also the name of his YouTube channel. His account, however, was hijacked, and all films published before December 2013 were sadly erased by a group. He subsequently restarted on June 2019.
Ridhwan began dating Nicole Choo in 2015, after she participated in a video on his YouTube channel. Ridhwan stated that he first encountered Nicole when evaluating new talent for JianHao’s channel. Their romance was widely reported on their individual social media profiles.
Nicole wrote a blog post titled “We Broke Up” on February 2, 2017. The entry described how their relationship was mutually abusive and challenging. Ridhwan responded by posting a series of posts on Facebook and Instagram explaining his side of the incident. Ridhwan accused Nicole of cheating on him and revealed that he suffered the brunt of her rage during their relationship. Their split became public when they attempted to denigrate each other online.
Crayeight studios PTE LTD was founded and is directed by Ridhwan Azman. From his part as “Recruit Ismail” in Jack Neo’s local blockbuster Ah Boys To Men l & ll to being one of Mediacorp Channel U’s Campus Superstar 2009 Top 12 finalists, he has evolved into more than just an entertainer.
