The singer Ahlam Alshamsi is regarded as successful, very successful! Tickets to her concerts were sold out months before, millions watch the TV shows where she appears, she has millions of followers on Instagram and she’s a regular entertainer and a constant in gossip columns. Alham is an Emirati singer and a dancer as well.

Ahlam, born and brought up based in UAE, was raised by her father who was a folk singer. Therefore music has already been there in her blood. Her music career began when she was a child, with roles in school plays and performances in local concerts and events. Despite all the challenges she faced from the beginning of her career, her brave persona helped in attaining her goals and dreams. From the Layali Dubai Festival, she went on and participated in many festivals around the world. Gaining much popularity in the Arab region and the West, her success as a singer was fueled. She performed at the UNESCO Festival and Ledo Festival in France where she was the first Arab singer that sang twice. And now in total, she has released a total of 14 albums and numerous singles.

In 2011, Ahlam joined MBC’s judging panel of Arab Idol, for all 4 seasons. She was also a judge and coach for season 4 in The Voice: Ahla Sawt singing competition.

In March 2016, after the first episode of her controversial show The Queen was broadcast on Dubai TV, a trending Twitter hashtag was launched and other people demanded that the program should be stopped for “lack of manners” and displaying “degrading acts”. Several Lebanese media persons took the opportunity to further criticize her for her opinions about the Lebanese. Later, the program was stopped after just one episode by the broadcaster.

She got dubbed “The Queen,” on social media from then on and she is the first Arabic singer ever to perform at the “Walt Disney Concert Hall.” A journey in 2006 which began with her major album Roatan, she now has an instagram account with 14 million followers who are her fans throughout the musical journey. She shares videos and posts on her official Instagram account, thanking her fans for their excitement and love. Practice time fun too gets shared on her social media. She loves to interact with audiences online too. And based on recent online statistics, she is the most followed artist on social media in the Middle East.
