The two-year rise of an average girl, Yukiko, to cosplay stardom

Xiaoyukiko, commonly known as Yukiko, is a renowned cosplay celebrity in Singapore. She has been a guest at various events because she cosplays a wide variety of anime and video game characters. Instagram is where she posts pictures and videos of her cosplay.

Yukiko is a full-time content creator who works independently and is not employed by any agency.

She started cosplaying for the first time in November 2016. She then grew and, in January 2017, began sharing her cosplay creations on Instagram.

She started a Patreon page where she gives her fans unique content and perks like polaroids, postcards, prints of her cosplay photos, and more.

Even though COVID-19 is still going around, this Rem-loving cosplayer has been to photoshoots.

Events are no longer possible, and getting people to talk to you is more challenging. It’s not as fun to do everything online.

Yukiko got her start in cosplay the same way that every other cosplayer did.

After only two years of participating in the hobby, Yukiko quickly became well-known in the cosplay community. Everyone who enjoys dressing up as a character should take their cue from Yukiko and keep moving forward!

At Anime Festival Asia 2016, Yukiko and her classmates debuted their first group cosplay as the character Kuriyama Mirai. As a rookie cosplayer at the conference, she wore a costume that was both straightforward and endearing, and as a result, she garnered a lot of attention.

Because of this, many cosplayers, photographers, and others have interacted with her and inquired about her Facebook profile. It was here that she made her initial foray into the world of cosplay.

Since that time, Yukiko has become an active member of the cosplay community and often attends various events in the local area. Yukiko’s costume garnered the attention of attendees at each event, which led to the development of a sizeable following over time.

Yukiko is under the impression that it was because she was so insanely enthusiastic about cosplay that she attended every single event available when she first started doing it.

Yukiko eventually created her Cosplay Instagram page in January 2017 and has since gained the attention of the international cosplay community by sharing her Cosplay online.

Many cosplayers did not take Instagram seriously when Yukiko first started in 2017. The community was mainly based on Facebook profile pages, and there were almost no “Local Cosplay Stars or Celebrities.” Nobody had a lot of followers. Anyone who works towards that goal is regarded as a “want to be.” But for Yukiko, who was previously a hobbyist beauty blogger, Instagram is her proper home ground. Yukiko believes she was among the first to post cosplay photos on Instagram in Singapore. She thinks it’s partly due to Yukiko starting it at the right time.

Because of the pandemic, events have been canceled, and she cannot actively engage.

She does, however, make a good living as a Geek Influencer through advertising and sponsorships. She also accepts game company sponsorships to stream on her Facebook Page.

However, Yukiko also stated that Cosplay is not a stable job; as much as she enjoys it and gives it her all, Yukiko does not and will not see it as a full-time job. Despite earning a good living now, Yukiko realizes that Cosplay, like anyone else, will grow old and die one day; you can’t rely on it for the rest of your life.

She is now in her final year of school and devoting more effort to her studies than she did in previous years. Although she occasionally accepts business offers and makes appearances at events, she has significantly reduced the amount of content she produces and has ceased operating her Patreon account.

Yukiko believes academic pursuits should take priority, but you should maintain your interest in cosplay and make money.
