She came up with the idea for her YouTube channel while working for a TV production company and MCing, both of which she adored. “I chose it because it was straightforward to launch; you don’t need to build a website or run any ads,” she explains.<\/p>\n

They had such an impact that she was chosen as one of seven “Change Ambassadors” in 2016 to advocate for gender equality in their respective communities on behalf of the United Nations. Not bad for someone who had just graduated from college and was 20 years old!<\/p>\n

“It’s amazing to see that institutions like the UN are realizing that women on YouTube constitute a tremendous community of female role models from varied communities around the world,” Hayla Ghazal said of her prominent new role with YouTube and the UN. “I discovered my voice on YouTube through uploading lifestyle and entertainment videos. Over the years, I’ve created a fan base with whom I can communicate about cultural events and problems that are important to me as a woman,” she continued.<\/p>\n

“I was fed up of being the shy girl, so I set a goal to change it. I got ambitious and I found my voice,” she had said in an interview.<\/p>\n
