Yassi Pressman: A Breadwinner And Mental Health Advocate

British-Filipina actress Yassi Pressman appears to have it all from the outside looking in. Yassi is among the most well-known faces in the nation and is blessed with beauty and talent.

Dealing with the fallout from her father’s passing and its effects on her was a significant part of that trip. But Yassi managed her mental health to move on as best she could, refusing to allow grief to overcome her. Yassi had previously committed to looking after her mental health to cope with her anxieties before her father’s passing. Her experience with mental illness helped her appreciate the lack of tools and options available to Filipinos.

Also, Yassi recently gave a glimpse into her life outside of show business and how she got her start in the entertainment industry in an interview with Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga on the Toni Talks YouTube channel. Yassi revealed that she was born in Hong Kong and that her family lived there until age two. Her father had enterprises back then that truly helped sustain them financially, but due to poor business choices and partners, their luxurious life ended. The family of Yassi Pressman traveled to the United States. As a result, she was staying at the home of her father’s acquaintance. An agent found her at Greenbelt when they traveled to the Philippines when she was six.

They initially believed it to be a con. At the age of six, Yassi had her first TV commercial, which launched her career in show business. Her parents had encouraged her to attend auditions. This persisted until her awkward adolescent years, also known as her ugly duckling phase. Since she couldn’t get any castings then, she focused on becoming a student. When she was 14 years old and still a senior in high school, Yassi resumed her dancing stints. Yassi Pressman recalls that after taping, she would head straight to school and take a quick shower to avoid missing her courses.

“I had to work to support my family. I had to acquire money because I was the only one in our family who worked, Yassi remarked. The actress has been actively engaged in the entertainment industry for many years. She claimed that because of this, she found it challenging to commit to tasks that would need her to spend a lot of time inside a recording bubble. Yassi currently engages in play-to-earn mobile gaming apps, mental health assistance, oral care and wellness, and pet care services.

Yassi said that her worst critic was herself. “I can be a bit of a perfectionist. I would watch the performance to see how I did. I became aware of how quickly I spoke last season. Fortunately, my director was there to mentor and offer suggestions,” she remarked. “If I ever got feedback, I would take it positively. Accepting that you’re not always the best is how you learn. You must always be willing to learn something new.
