‘You never know what story he/she are hiding behind those smiles.’ Mental health, the most talked about issue today. Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and most hard to bear. It is easier to say my tooth is aching than to say my heart is paining. Having a mental health issue is still not considered important, it is still a taboo in our society. ‘Apki beti/beta dimag ke Doctor k pass jati/jata hai?’ Is the most ashamed question asked with a doubt. ‘Kya yaar, itni si baat ka itna stress kaun leta hai?’ ‘Jyada Sochi rahi hai, khud toh pagal ho gayi hai ab mere ko paka mat.’ ‘Yaar phir se chalu mat kar BT hota hai full on.’ ‘Isko kisi cheez ka dukh nahi hai life mei dek hamesha hasti he rahti hai.’ ‘Be a man and deal with your own problems.’ ‘Men don’t cry, they never feel weak.’ Aren’t these our words. Let’s face the fact we never take mental situation of any human seriously. We have knowingly or unknowingly mocked them. Or we have always judged them without knowing how it feels inside. And now in middle of this pandemic the least we can do is be sensitive and kind to each other. #mentalhealthisapriority #togetherwefightdepression #mentalhealthmatters
