The Kulaba fort at Alibaug iss located at a distance of 2 km inside sea from Alibaug beach. It can be accessed by foot during low tides but a horse cart is required during high tides to reach to Fort. Most of the parts of fort are ruined whereas the water tanks are still intact. There is a Ganesha temple in middle with beautiful deities of Ganesha and Riddhi Siddhi - wives of Ganesha. The ends of the forts open to open sea surface. Spending time while looking towards roaring waves is the best part to be here. There are several vendors selling the fruits from nearby forest. An hour is sufficient to explore the fort. Take precautions during high tides. If the water level rises above optimal level, you might have to wait for next 4 hours to let low tides in. Keep exploring!
