A Diary-Style Blog Post ("My First Hour with Block Blast") Introduction I was looking for a new chill-out game this week and stumbled upon Block Blast . It looked like a simple block puzzler, and that's exactly what I wanted. It turned out to be one of those "just one more game" experiences that I really enjoy. Gameplay The first few games were what you'd expect: place shapes, clear a few lines, and then inevitably get stuck with a big square piece I couldn't fit anywhere. But after about 15 minutes, something clicked. I started thinking less about just making the current piece fit and more about what the board would look like after I placed it. The feeling of clearing three lines at once and watching the score multiply is incredibly satisfying. Tips I Learned the Hard Way Making a single hole is a trap! I ended so many good runs by leaving one little square I could never fill. Placing the big pieces immediately is usually the right call. Waiting for the perfect spot often means that spot never comes. A clean, open board is worth more than a risky, complicated setup. It's a game of survival first, high scores second. There's a rhythm to it. You start to get a feel for which pieces come up often and learn to keep the right kinds of spaces open for them. Conclusion I really like Block Blast. It's the perfect game to play while listening to a podcast or just zoning out for a bit. It’s simple, there are no timers or pressure, and it feels great when you beat your old high score. Definitely a keeper.
