How I Balance School, Exams and an Internship at 17 By Rudrajit Ghosh Balancing school and an internship might sound hectic — especially when you’re just 17 and PT-1 exams are around the corner. Now throw in board exams too, and it feels nearly impossible. I’m currently navigating Class 12 Science while working as a content writing intern, and yes — it gets frustrating at times. But this journey is teaching me more than I ever expected: time management, self-discipline, and how to deal with real-world pressure. In this blog, I’ll share how I’m balancing these three things at once — the challenges I face, and the small habits that help me make it work without completely burning out 📌 When Life Feels Too Much > My day usually starts with morning tuition, and right after that, I have to rush and get ready for school. From 10:30 AM to 4:45 PM, I’m at school, and once I’m back, I still have to attend my online lectures. By the time everything ends, I barely have any energy left. Even simple things like replying to a friend or scrolling through Instagram feel too exhausting. Being a Class 12 science student comes with its own pressure. Between school, entrance exam prep, internships, and tuition homework, it feels like I never get a break. There are modules, DPPs, mocks, and study targets constantly hanging over me. Sometimes I stay up till 3 AM to complete everything and still wake up by 6 AM. My sleep cycle is completely broken, and the tiredness shows — especially in the form of dark circles. The worst part? Social media. Sometimes I open Instagram to relax for 5 minutes and end up wasting the entire evening. It ruins my focus, drains my motivation, and makes me feel like I’m falling behind in life. Still, I try. Whatever I can't finish at night, I make sure to do the next morning. It’s not easy — but I haven't given up yet. How I’m Making It Work Anyway ✨ > Balancing school, exams, and an internship at 17 may sound overwhelming, but it’s not impossible. It just takes a little discipline and smart time management. I’ve learned that setting up a clear daily or weekly schedule helps ensure everything gets the attention it needs — whether it's exam revision, schoolwork, or internship tasks. Breaking down big tasks into smaller, manageable chunks makes things feel less stressful and more achievable. Doing an internship at this age doesn’t distract from studies — it actually enhances your knowledge and confidence. Communicating openly with teachers, mentors, and family members also helps in getting support and guidance when things feel too heavy. Honestly, it’s not easy. Every day feels like a fight — with time, with distractions, and sometimes with myself. But I know that all of this is shaping me into someone stronger. I may not have everything figured out yet, but I’ve stopped expecting perfection. Instead, I focus on progress — one task, one hour, one effort at a time. There are breakdowns, there’s burnout, but there’s also growth. If I can keep going, even on the worst days, that’s enough for now. I may be tired, but I’m not giving up. Not today.
