3 Continents! We used to study about different continents, their landscapes, their people, and cultures in our school textbooks. Travelling makes me relive those lessons to some extends. Asia is so full of colors and characters. In any country you travel to, people from different cultures, religions, socioeconomic backgrounds coexist. That reflects on the festivals, architectures, foods. If you are traveling from the west, you might find things a little overwhelming at first. You will soon get used to the friendliest people. Europe, on the other hand, is more relaxed and welcoming. Still churning out the advantage of the medieval past and successful colonization, life is more settled and relaxed. A glass of wine and an evening stroll in the old square is a perfect end of the day here. America, the land of 2nd chances, is built by migrants from Europe and Asia over centuries. It's a land of extreme landscapes. All these reflect on its food and culture. It is an amalgamation of Mexican, European, Asian, and Caribbean influences. Pictures are from my travel to 1. Ipoh, Malaysia 2. Zagreb, Croatia 3. Point Lobos National Park, USA

Odisha is yet to take a place as a mainstream tourist destination in India. Most people, especially those who are not from eastern India, are not aware of the rich history, heritage, and natural beauty the place has to offer. If you start planning a trip with a limited timeline, you will find it hard to select few places from the vast options of beach cities like Puri, Gopalpur (Odisha has one of the largest coastlines in India), places with heritage significance like Konark or Khandagiri, countless tribal villages, the hills of Daringbadi (it is called Kashmir of Odisha for its weather) or the unexplored Simlipal National Park. As a kid, Puri, a famous beach town in Odisha, used to be our favorite holiday destination. But moving out of West Bengal made me ignorant about the state. A few years back, I got a chance to visit Bhubaneswar again courtesy of a friend's wedding. Though I had only a few hours to spare, I did not miss the chance to visit the twin hills of Udayagiri and Khandagiri on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The two hills were curved into building residential blocks for Jain monks during the 1st century BCE. Udayagiri, the sunrise hill, has 18 caves and Khandagiri has 15. Some parts of the caves are ruined but you can still see the paintings and figurines built in the cave wall. Isn’t it unbelievable that people even 2000 years ago were enough skilled to create such beauty out of a hill?
