Celebrated on the third Sunday of every June, Father's Day was first marked in the United States on June 19, 1910, to honour fathers across the country and all the father figures. Interestingly, it was a woman who started the celebration of a day. Sonora Smart Dodd, an American woman was raised by her dad after their mother passed away and was bothered since there wasn't a day to express gratitude for whatever he did.
